Yamaha Acoustic Guitar Dimensions

another quick question; i don’t wish to be tedious ; however I have my eye on a little yamaha?

guitar for about 300 dollars. my hands are quite small (I cannot reach 9 inches with the ruler; when my hand is extended) So . (I’m an old guy) I would like to have a guitar of the correct dimensions. but that just wont happen in my lifetime. My acoustic guitas are no worries : I can bash them any time. What I want to know is: is the purchase of a classical guitar dependent on what you know about the spacing of one of your hands; ie; the distance from your pinky to your thum out stretched: I am under nine inches. 8 and 1 half to be exact. So I will never be able to make a barre chord on a steel string guitar.. simply because unlike my dick i don’t have the nine inches. I hate this.

Check the pawn shops and guitar stores. You can’t get your fingers around these words, but if you actively check every possible place for stringed instruments you will find some neck suitable for your reach. I have seen a few classical necks that seemed slimmer than most but I haven’t been looking for one for a while. Friend had a Martin that seemed comfy and I have short feelers too. The problem can be too close string spacing if you have fat fingers like me.
Lots of manufacturers post the dimensions of the neck on websites.
I have a twelve string with a 1 5/8″ neck, way narrow! Six strings fit nicely but chords are tight on that width neck. You have to keep trying different models to find the right one. I have nine guitars a bass and a fiddle and feel like I can cover most tones and styles, wish I knew how to play now!
