how to shop for an acoustic guitar?
how to shop for a good acoustic guitar. i saw one at this one small store, it looks real simple but how do i know that its something i should buy. what should i look at, like size or something important. please help
Since you are a beginner, you might want to start with a classical or folk guitar – nylon strings. It’s easier on the fingers. These come in full size, 3/4, 1/2 and maybe even 1/4 size. The size you get will depend on how tall you are.
You can probably pick up a guitar, book and gig bag for under $100.
The only real important thing with a beginning guitar is that the intonation is correct (it’s frets are in the right places) and the action is playable (the distance from the strings to the fretboard).
If the action is too high, it will be more difficult to press the strings down. If it is too low, the strings will buzz as they vibrate against the frets.
Other than that, get one that you like how it looks.
