Removing Acoustic Guitar Pegs

how do i restring my steel string acoustic guitar?

hi, im trying to restring my acoustic steel string guitar, and having problems.
when i take the bridge peg out, and remove the first string
i get the new string, which is a “ball end” string. put it in the hole. put in the peg correctly.
and when i start tuning it, the string keeps getting pulled out of the peg hole.
what do i do?

you probably need a new peg, or if worst comes to worst, you’ll need a new bridge, because if you put the peg in all the way it shouldn’t come out that easily (i know, because it’s already a hassle taking them out to replace the string).

in the end, take it to the shop and ask a professional guitar technician. i know it’s probably not the answer you’re looking for, but if you’re going to be a serious guitar player, you’re going to need to get used to the regular visits to the guitar technicians, or become one yourself.
