Online Free Acoustic Guitar Tuning

What are the six strings,of a six string acoustic called and were can I find free lessons on line ?

I am going to buy my first acoustic guitar in 2 weeks,I don’t even know where to start,I don’t even know what the six strings of a six string guitar are called, or where they are located,can someone please help.I also am looking for free lessons online that teaches me the cords and such,maybe some simple starter tunes.

turbo’s post has the strings listed so I won’t repost that…….but I will make a suggestion. If you’re going to invest in a guitar, invest another $25 and get a beginner’s course that includes a book and DVD. Free lessons on the internet will only take you so far, and will “piece” things together……your best bet is to get an actual course that will take you from the very beginning and progress from there. The DVD part is important because it can actually SHOW you how you should be doing things…..so you don’t develop any bad habits early on in your playing.
