Gibson Acoustic Guitar History
![]()
Im writing a paper on the guitar and music in general, any ideas for topics to talk about?
So far for topics in my paper i’ve got:
basic history (made 1928 bla bla), types of guitars (electric, bass, acoustic…), first guitar made, parts and influencing rock n roll, manufacturers (gibson, epiphone…), music genres (rock, punk, metal…), famous guitarists (slash, kirk hammett, eric clapton…), musical notes (a, b, c…), how instruments play notes just different sounds, how everything is flipped (higher on neck actually means closer to base, lower string is actually closer to you), need to practice to get better, techniques right hand (picking, tapping…), techniques left hand (hammer on, pull off…), muscle memory, and a conclusion.
So if you can think of anything to improve my paper because I’d like to make it longer (that’s only 5 pages), that’d help a lot for my passion project
.
Thanks
Good idea about the effects which made me think about amplifiers, haven’t explained those yet, thanks.
Looks like you’ve got some pretty good detail in there so far.
Maybe add some stuff about whammy bars, capos, music tabs, how the look of guitars has changed over the years (especially electric), alternate tuning, slide guitar, etc.
I don’t know what criteria your paper’s gonna be marked on, but knowing how teachers are, its probably best to add some ‘conceptual complexity’ bullcrap. You could talk about how guitar became so iconic, what draws so many people to it and where the future of guitar lies (better technology, changing music trends, blah blah).
Anyway, that should add a couple of pages easy. Good luck!
