I want a Fender Acoustic guitar because I’ve heard some really good things about them. My budget is $500…

What are some cool, good sounding Fenders out there within my budget?

I really need help on this because I’m as nervous as heck…I wanna know what kind of guitar I should get before getting it :]

The best advice I can give you is to go to the music store with an open mind. Fender acoustics are OK but there are lots of other really nice guitars within your budget; don’t rule them out just because they’re not Fenders.

If you can, bring a guitar playing friend with you to the store. The thing to do when you get to the music store is to try out a bunch of guitars in your price range, not just Fenders. You’re looking for a guitar that feels comfortable in your hands, with a neck that fits your hand and a body that you can wrap your arm over and strum without feeling like the body is too big. What matters is not the name on the guitar but how it feels and sounds to YOU. Pick out 2 or 3 guitars that you like best, then get your guitar playing friend, or one of the store sales people, to play each of those guitars for you to listen to with your back turned (a blind listening test). The one that sounds the best to you is the one you want.
