Acoustic Guitar Types Of Wood
I want to paint my acoustic guitar?
Ok so I have come up with a new design for my guitar because the way it is right now is kind of boring. Over the summer I want to paint it. But I don’t know what type of paint to use or how to do the whole process and stuff.
I have the shiny glossy type. Not the kind were the wood would give you a splinter somehow and stuff. Some people say I should sand it first but I think that might ruin it. Please help!
Don’t do it. An acoustic guitar produces tone as the top vibrates. Adding a coat of paint will serve to dampen the vibrations and thereby ruin your guitar’s tone. If the guitar has any value it will be rendered worthless. Better to get a canvas and paint a picture and leave your guitar as it is now.
