One of the things you do when you learn to play bass should be to listen to some of the great bassists of inspiration and ideas. If you spend any time in Forums to quickly see that the top of the tree is the Motown bassist James Jamerson. This man wrote most of the rules when it comes to building bass lines and you can to learn an incredible amount of detail study on the lines of the bass.

Here are 5 bass lines that should be under the direction of James Jamerson strive eventually learn. Almost all of them are well advanced, so if you start this song is almost certainly more about you.
