Acoustic Guitar Chords For Beginners
What acoustic guitar should I get?
I want to learn how to play acoustic guitar and I have no experience but I have books with scales and chords. But I was wondering what would be a good acoustic guitar for a beginner that wouldn’t cost a lot in case I decide to quit?
Go to a pawn shop. Seriously. Especially these days, there are a LOT of musicians hocking their guitars for cash, and almost every pawn shop will have a lot of fairly good (and usually expensive) guitars for half the price or less.
Once you are ready for the real deal, I’m partial to Martin. I’ve played a lot of electric guitars (from cheap Fenders to more expensive and quite heavy multi-pickup Strats) and also cheap WalMart accoustics to high-end Gibsons, and when I played a Martin Dreadnaught I immediately fell in love. It blew away $1500 Gibsons for sound and ease of playing. (And since buying mine, it actually went UP in value, which tells you a lot about the quality.)
But if you’re unsure, go to a pawn shop. You can at least get started for cheap without blowing a huge wad of cash.
Remember, every price is negotiable too.
