Acoustic Guitar Buzzing Problem

acoustic guitar buzzing problem
will replacing the strings on my acoustic guitar help my playing?

i have an oscar schmidt by washburn, its really not a very nice guitar. but most of it is the strings, they have a little rust in certain spots and are very rough on the hands, and they are very hard to press down effectively without getting a buzz.if i get new strings, probabaly coated, will that help my problems? ive played nicer guitars and they are alot easier to play.

What you should do is replace them with light gauge strings. That will be easier on the fingers to begin with. Also, when yo start seeing rust on the strings, we can safely say they are worn out and probably sound dead which doesn’t do justice to the guitar.

Get .010 light gauge. D’addario is a good brand and the guitar will get a new life and sound better with new strings. I don’t recommend coated because they are usually for electric guitar. I imagine the Washburn is an acoustic guitar.
